The manufacturing sector is almost 98% SMEs(*). Most businesses are lagging when it comes to integrating leading-edge technology to design innovative products and increase their productivity.

These technologies have a significant influence in industries such as aerospace, a flagship of Quebec industry, but also in manufacturing and metal machining or wood processing. These three fields employ over 150,000 people in Quebec. 

Advanced manufacturing is based on key factors such as automation, robotics, the Internet of Things, advanced materials, and 3D printing and visualization. For instance, digital software and robotics integrated to production chains have enabled many industries to innovate. 

These advances make it possible not only to meet market needs, but also to transform industrial production and increase the competitiveness of sector actors.
